Elda med Höns is a legendary prog band from Falun that started in 1970 and came
with his first album in 1975, recorded at Musiknätet Waxholm (MNW).
50th anniversary and on 6/12 2025 they released their second LP, at Kulturhuset Tio14 in
Falun. At last!
The band's name comes from a story during the time of the gengas.
From being a band at student parties, they went on to have tours and
gigs at various rock venues around the country.
In the 1970s, the band was very much part of the Swedish ”prog circus”. Elda
med Höns played at Gärdesfesten in Stockholm and participated in the alternative
schlager festival in 1975. They were also frequent guests at the classical music festival
Sprängkullen in Gothenburg.
During a few years of family formation and studies, the band lay dormant to be resurrected
2002 and since then has regular rehearsals and a few gigs every year. Five
of the current seven members were there from the start.
