Bar and restaurant activities<\/strong><br \/>Here we focus on raw materials as the largest source of emissions and reduce these by<br \/>choose green, vegetarian options, locally produced and reduced transport distances<br \/>and food waste recovery.<br \/>Since 2025 we are Kranm\u00e4rkt, Kranm\u00e4rkt - An initiative by Svenskt Vatten<\/p><p><strong>2. Hotel operations<\/strong><br \/>Within our hotel operations, we have chosen to be a green hotel with a plant profile, which<br \/>means that we grow our own plants, have plants in all hotel rooms and many plants in<br \/>our social spaces to contribute to a better planet. We work on environmental policy through<br \/>to focus on how we can reduce our emissions of energy, water, transport, chemicals, etc.<br \/>and waste. We also want to be an inspiration in Uppsala through sustainable events.<\/p><p><strong>3. social sustainability<\/strong><br \/>In social sustainability, we work on who we employ, who lives with us, and who is not.<br \/>who appears in our media channels.<\/p><p><strong>Action plan<\/strong><br \/>We work continuously to implement our environmental objectives with this action plan:<\/p><p><strong>Bar and Restaurant:<br \/><\/strong>Weighing food waste. We weigh how much food we throw away after hotel breakfast (twice every quarter) in order to optimise both demand and supply and thus reduce our climate impact by not buying too much raw material.<br \/>We sell our surplus from meals via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toogoodtogo.com\/sv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Too Good To Go<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Food<\/strong> <br \/>On our menu, we work as much as possible with locally produced products to reduce our carbon footprint. All our offerings are available as vegan and vegetarian options.<\/p><p><strong>Choosing local produce<\/strong><br \/>At our breakfast, we work with a Nordic buffet to promote local ingredients such as fruits and vegetables.<br \/>promotes our region and country and to reduce long-distance transport. Our raw materials are<br \/>for the most part from Sweden. Food and drink purchases are always based on locally grown and Swedish products where possible, taking into account product and price.<br \/>Local range of drinks. We offer local beers, wines and tonics and try to select European spirits.<\/p><p><strong>Hotel<br \/><\/strong>Renewable energy and energy-efficient solutions. Our hotel will be powered by renewable energy and we are currently working on running the hotel on our own solar energy in the future. Energy-efficient LED lamps will be used and changed when replacing light sources. We have carried out an energy declaration in quarter 1, 2022, to<br \/>working with our suppliers to review the energy system. Adjustment of<br \/>heat exchanger is finalised. We have implemented a project in 2025 to reduce electricity consumption in our ventilation together with AirTeam.<\/p><p><strong>Biophilic design<\/strong><br \/>We are currently working on establishing an in-house greenhouse to be able to drive up<br \/>cuttings and fresh herbs with seedlings in all public areas and in our rooms. This helps to capture carbon dioxide as plants are the environment's best friend.<\/p><p><strong>Sustainability events<\/strong><br \/>We work with sustainable events and support local businesses. In collaboration with H\u00e4lsa i Uppsala, we organise annual health fairs to inspire more healthy and sustainable living. In 2025, we organised Cykelfr\u00e4mjandet's cycle week, which we will now organise ourselves every year.<\/p><p><strong>Waste<\/strong><br \/>We have just finished building a new environmental station on the hotel premises. We are almost completely free of unnecessary plastic products. We sort our waste and offer a large waste sorting station for our guests.<\/p><p><strong>Reduction of environmentally hazardous chemicals<\/strong><br \/>Our guest soap and shampoo are organic products with as few chemicals as possible<br \/>as possible. The chemicals we use are environmentally classified as red, yellow and green, depending on their impact on people, animals and the environment.<\/p><p><strong>Saving water<\/strong><br \/>In 2020, we installed water-saving showers, taps and toilets to reduce water consumption.<br \/>Re-use of towels and change of linen is only carried out after a guest's stay if<br \/>unless otherwise requested by the guest, in order to save water and energy.<\/p><p><strong>Sustainable supply chains<\/strong><br \/>That suppliers are environmentally certified and work with clear environmental goals. Where we have not yet found sustainable suppliers, we are actively working to replace them with more sustainable companies.<\/p><p><strong>Holiday guests!<br \/><\/strong>We are actively working to promote Swedish tourism and attract domestic hotel guests. This reduces long distances travelled by air for our travellers as they mostly come to Botanika by train and bus.<\/p><p><strong>Reduce transport distances<\/strong><br \/>Through carefully thought-out ordering procedures and joint purchasing of goods, we reduce the number of<br \/>transport to the hotel. We choose mostly Nordic goods as the right product choice reduces global deliveries.<\/p><p><strong>Social sustainability<\/strong><br \/>We welcome everyone! We are a multicultural meeting place where both our employees and guests should feel welcome regardless of origin or orientation.
